Baby update

Isabel and I both had doctors appt this morning. Isabel had speech therapy and did so well. I think we will only have to go back two more time before she turns 2 in July. She will not be all the way caught up in her speech but that will come soon after hopefully. The doctor brought in a computer that works with them on certain sounds and when she wheeled it in Isabel got so excited and just started giggling and bouncing up and down. It was the cutest thing ever. Devin of course had a great time also "helping" the doctor with everything. lol! They each get a book after every class also so that will make bed time very fun with some new material. lol!
After her appt. we had a little time to kill and then went to my OB appt. There are two midwives in this office and this was the week I went to the other midwife just so I would know her in case my doctor can't be there for delivery. She was so nice so that is wonderful to know that I love whoever deliveries this little boy. She had nurse practitioner shadowing her today so they asked me if that was ok and of course that fine. I was nice because they went into a lot of detail about what she was doing. The nurse practitioner measured me and said she was measuring 34cm and at this point I should be at 30cm. She as asked if she did it right and the midwife double checked and sure enough I am measuring four weeks ahead of schedule! We don't know if this is just me getting big or if the baby is farther along then we think. It is probably a little of both. lol! Last appt. I was two weeks ahead and now four weeks so they will see what happens next time with my regular midwife and then maybe do an ultrasound to see if I might be farther along then they thought. I would love to be farther along then we think but I am not holding my breath. We will see I guess. They also were trying to decide if the baby was head down and they felt and poked and prodded and said he was head down but then I told them I have been having a lot of pressure at the top of my uterus so they checked to see if they could feel feet or head at the top and said they felt a mass like a head up there too so they didn't know if he was head up or down. I was excited because they were going to take me in to do a quick ultrasound to see were his head really was since they couldn't really tell but the ultrasound had a line so since I am not past 34 weeks it's not a big deal if he is not head down yet but maybe next time. I also got told that my glucose test came back negative but it was on the high end so I have to cut down on all my sweets and carbs. This saddens me a lot because I LOVE those things but I will do whatever I can to help him be healthy. So it was a fun appt and Allen got to be there which is always so nice. Hopefully we will have some more definitive answers next appt in two weeks. Bye!

Seriously?!

So after our beautiful weather from last week.......Well, as beautiful as it can be for this time of year. We have had snow for three days now and expect it for at least one more. Not that this is totally unexpected for around here but I am just plan sick of the cold and snow and want warm weather. I know everyone from Montana is thinking that I need to get over it and suck it up but I am done with it all.
Okay, now that that rant is over I guess I can talk about some good things that came of this. We finally decided that it was time to move some stuff in the garage so we could park in there. I must say that it is wonderful not having the clean off several inches of snow every time you want to go anywhere. It is still crowded in the garage but hopefully soon we will get a day to deep clean the garage and while we are doing the cleaning it might really stink but afterwards it will be amazing and I can't wait! Tackling big projects as a family is so much fun. Things are starting to slow down for Allen which has been a huge relief to all of us. He just has his final left for pre-cal and has wrapped some stuff up at church he was working on so by next weekend we should have some family time! I am working on some stuff for the Malmstrom spouses club and that has taken a lot of time but I am usually able to get it done during the day so the evenings are free. We also braved the weather last night and went and did a baby registry at Target which was so much fun. It makes the baby coming seem more real even though we still have 10 weeks left. Anyway, now I am just rambling so I will leave you all with pictures of our spring weather. Enjoy!

Congratulations!

So my life is pretty boring right now so I have to blog about other people. I hope that is okay. lol!
I wanted to send out a big congratulations to my friend Brittany who had her little baby boy this Monday. Little Bailey is so precious and I am so happy for their family and his safe arrival. It's hard to believe you are a family of five now! lol! I can't wait for our little boys to play together soon. I also have a friend in Kansas that we know from college that will be having her fourth baby sometime this next week. She has three boys and this time is expecting her first baby girl. Please pray that everything will go smoothly for her.
With these babies coming is giving me hope that someday my pregnancy will end and I will have a new little baby also. It feels like forever but I know it will be here before we know it. I have lots to keep me busy before our little boy comes. Keep us in your prayers as we try and get a lot finished during the next few weeks before Allen leaves for training for a month. Thanks!

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. Ours was hectic but pretty good. The girls went to three different Easter egg hunts and a Easter carnival. It was very busy but the girls had a blast. The first egg hunt Isabel didn't really get it but by the third she had it down and would get so excited when she saw an egg. It was so cute. We had our churches youth rally this weekend so that kept Allen really busy and we housed three boys from Canada. They pretty much just slept at the house so that part was really easy. We just put them in the basement and showed them how to work the projector and they were happy boys. lol! During the day on Saturday we were cleaning out the car so the girls played in the battery powered car from their cousins Kylie and Rachel and had so much fun. Devin is getting really good at the steering part.  That evening the teens went to the ice rink so we took the girls to see if Devin wanted to try. We got her some skates rented but she had to be convinced by her favorite babysitter Felicia to actually put them on. After they were on she was so proud of herself and had so much fun. She did one lap with Allen holding one hand and another guy from church also named Devin holding the other. She was pretty wobbly but did a very good job keeping her legs straight and not giving up.  It was a fun evening. hear are some pictures from our weekend.

Billings trip

So last Saturday our shopping trip got cancelled because of snow but we were determined so we instead went yesterday. We just had to bring the kids which I was a little nerves about because we had done it before and it was pretty chaotic but they were so good. I guess they are a lot older then last time but they listened and we had minimal whining the entire time. LOTS of bathroom breaks but there is no way to get past that. lol! Anyway, they had some great deals at gymboree that you just can't get online which was so nice and Allen was even excited about the sweaters I got for 3.15 each! It was amazing! We then went to motherhood maternity because I needed to get a new pair of shorts for the summer if it will ever get here. I found a pair that works pretty good so that was exciting. I love getting maternity clothes but they are so expensive and it is hard to justify when you don't have a ton of time left. I will use those shorts a lot though once or if it gets warm here. lol! We ended up getting home about two hours after we had planned but it was a great trip and I am so glad that it ended up working out. Now Brittany can have her baby. lol!

DOUBLE DIGITS!

I have finally made it to 98 days till my due date. I was going to post on 99 days but my internet was down yesterday. lol! I seriously never thought the day would come that I finally made it to double digits with this pregnancy. I know that 98 days is still a long time but it sounds so much better then in the hundreds. Hopefully the rest of the time will fly by.
We are still working away at our to do list and it is going pretty well. I need to be putting the computer desk back together but was feeling a little overwhelmed on where to start so I thought I would of course come and blog first. lol! I don't think it will take to long but getting started is always the hardest thing.
I was also hoping to make the girls easter dresses for next weekend but that is quickly approaching and I have not even started on them and my craft room is not really close to being set up but it still might happen. Maybe this weekend we can get the craft room set up and during the week I can get the dresses done. I have two dresses that I made when I went home this last time that I was going to use for easter but decided I liked this other material more so if all else fails we can use the one's I already have. lol! Well, I should get to it.

I'm going on a trip!

I am heading to Billings with my friend Brittany this Saturday and I am so excited about it. Great Falls has no good maternity or baby shops so we are making a day of it and leaving the kids here for a day with dad. It will be so nice and relaxing. That is of course if Brittany doesn't decide to go into labor since she is due to have her little boy in a month but we will just pray that doesn't happen. lol!
All this week I will have to stay on top of my to do list so that I won't feel like I am not getting something done that I should. My to do list seems to grow faster then I can get things done which is very sad but I have faith that eventually it will stop. lol! This morning I have got a lot done so that puts me in a better mood for the rest of the day.
This year I am in charge on the scholarship program in the spouses club and it is getting to be time where I am getting busy. I kinda got handed the stuff with no real direction so it has been a challenge but today I got a hold of someone who has worked with it for a few years so I have a meeting with him this Wednesday so I am so relieved and excited to have some help! It will be a huge weight off me when this things gets finished in the middle of May. It has been a huge leaning experience doing this program but I think next year I will have my efforts focused other places and let someone else learn how to do the scholarships.
Anyway, I should get back to my list. lol! Talk to you all soon.

So much to do...

So since getting back from our trip to see family I have felt very pressed for time in getting thing done before Allen has to leave for four weeks in May. You might think that I have plenty of time to get a lot done and you are right but Allen has managed to put so much on his plate that it gives me anxiety. He is doing a pre-calculus class right now that will not finish till May, Making a shadow box for a guy in his flight that is retiring, wants to make TWO twin size beds for the girls room, plus he wants to clean up all his work areas and tools before he leaves because they won't give us a straight answer if we will have to move when he is gone for the six months. The only problem with all this is that he only gets a chance to work maybe an hour a night at home and that is usually on math so the other stuff comes on the weekend and we only have about six weekends left. It's hard to work on weekends to much because that is family time and the only time he gets to spend a lot of time with the girls. Anyway, It will probably be just fine and I am worried about nothing but I have been dying to get all the rooms set up for the girls and the new baby. The baby is going in the guest room but we can't decide if we want to keep the guest bed in there or if we want to take it down stairs. Since it is hard for people to come visit us often that room has turned into a sorta junk room which needs a lot of work to get all the stuff out of there but we can't decide where it should go because we can't figure out how to do the rooms downstairs. We will figure it out but until then it is driving me crazy and I just had to vent a little bit. It will all get done but it's hard to see at this point. lol! Sorry this is a little random but maybe next post I can update you all on our progress! Have a great weekend!

Procrastinator....

This is what I am. Allen and I are doing a marriage class every Friday night for eight weeks and we have yet to finish a lesson before thursday night. Well, our evenings have been crazy this week and it is Friday afternoon and we are still not done. I don't want you to think I am not taking this class seriously because it has been great but it is very hard to do all the book work when that is not what you are used to. Anyway, it's not nap time yet so I can't even attempt reading when they are awake. That just frustrates everyone which is not what you want to be when doing homework on trying to improve your marriage. lol!
I procrastinate on so much more but it will just be depressing if I go through and name them all so let's just say it is something I need to work on. lol!
Speaking of that I should probably get up and clean the kitchen from lunch. Have a great afternoon!

It's a BOY!

We found out this last Friday the our third child will be a boy! He was not shy and wanted everyone to know that he was a boy. lol!
I thought he was going to be a boy but still had it in my head that it will probably be another girl so it was exciting. He was moving like crazy and is already 14 oz. which is pretty big for a 20 weeker so he may be a big boy. I bought a newborn sleeper for him yesterday so I hope he will at least fit into that for a couple weeks. He have no idea on a name yet but haven't really tried. We are taking a trip in March to Missouri and will have tons of time in the car so we will try and figure it out then. Until then any name suggestions will be taken and considered because we have nothing. I better head to bed so I will update soon.

I'm glad you can't see me right now

So I have had a cold the last three days and it has been really hard to get some sleep because of the cough and stuffy nose. Since I am pregnant my choices in medication are pretty nonexistent so I have to improvise. I was not real tired anyway because of the excitement of our ultrasound tomorrow so I thought I would stay up and google ways to stop my cough and stuffy nose from natural things we have around the house. here is what I came up with.

cough: I only tried one thing since I didn't have a lot of the other stuff. I made hot tea and put lemon and honey in it. This doesn't seem to weird except I hate flavorings in my tea so to me this is gross but since my nose it stuffy I can't taste anything anyway so I went for it. Although this just started it does seem to be helping but that might just be because I am sitting up. When I was laying in bed it was really bad. Time will tell.

stuffy nose: My first try was acupressure. While pressure points have never seemed to work before but I was really desperate. So the verdict is that is does NOT work and just wastes time. Moving on to the next thing that told me to stick my head in a freezer for 5 minutes and only breathing through my nose. I would have tried this but there was no way I could breath through my nose at all. Then at the bottom it said that you could just put an ice cube on your nose. That is were I am now and I CAN BREATH! Granted it is just one nostril that is clear but I will take it. I will have to let you all know soon if it actually lasts after the ice is taken off but I consider it a success! (ps. My nose got clear so I started tasting my tea which was not a good thing. lol!)
Wow, this has been a really pointless post but you might find it helpful one of these nights.
Iwill let you know tomorrow how the doctors appt. goes. night!

Happy Valentines Day!

Today was a great Valentines Day! After realizing only yesterday that V-Day was Saturday I sorta panicked since it was my year to plan and I had nothing. After realizing the crowds would be bad around dinner time if we went out I decided to just cook a full meal at home and hang out for dinner. We got ready slowly this morning and played around until lunch time and then we went to a pizza place in town for lunch that was awesome. I had ordered reular crust and they brought me thin crust so they let me keep the thin crust and brought me a regular crust also. It was great! Allen of course had to comment how bad it looked that I had two pizzas in front of me plus the girls pizza that I was cutting up for them. It did look pretty bad I guess.lol! Don't worry because when we left I had a pizza and a half to bring home with us so we get leftovers tomorrow! We came home and Allen and the girls took a nap and I went to the store to get some thing for dinner. After dinner Allen entertained the kids while I cleaned up and gave them a bath which is so nice of him. It was a great day but I am worn out. Hopefully I can get a lot of sleep tonight. I will leave you with some cute pictures from our Valentines Day. I hope you all had great day also!

At least I tried...

So Isabel hair has been coming in so slowly but it is getting a lot longer so today I thought I would try and see if it could stay in a pony tail. The pony tail was on top of her head of course and hardly visible since her hair is so short but I got it to stay in! I took a picture but you do have to strain to see it. I will try and get a better one after her nap. I was just excited that I can finally put bows in her hair!! lol!

She was not real happy during the picture.

Devin wanted her picture taken also so here she is!

A productive weekend

Allen had a long weekend this week so that was a lot of fun. He made some shelves to put around the house so that was really exciting so we can organize movies and some things in the girls room. I didn't even know how cluttered our house was until we went through the stuff to put on the shelves. I was also able to clean almost the entire house with Allen helping to play with the girls and he shampooed our rug. It really needed that! Other then that we just hung out as a family which doesn't seem to happen often enough. Here are a couple pictures of us hanging out.

Devin and Isabel getting ready for a game of candyland. Isabel just holds the cards but Devin is doing really well at it.

This is all girls hanging out after dinner. I made pudding and the girls LOVED it!

So...I guess I'm not real good at this

I have tried to keep a blog for the last 3 and a half years and if you look back I don't have a very good track record of keeping up with it. So once again I am going to give it another shot and we will see how long it last this time. Isabel had her 18 month appt today and the doctor said she looked perfect. They have a big mirror by the exam table so Isabel just watched the whole exam by looking in the mirror and smiling at herself. She weighs 22 lbs 12oz (8th percentile), length is 29.6 in. (10th percentile) and her head is in the 50th percentile. lol! Devin got to weigh herself also and she is still weighing in at 32 pounds. The only thing the doctor said about Isabel is that her communication skills are a little behind so we are going to try some speech therapy and hopefully after a little bit of that she will be all caught up. Her first session will be Feb. 13th so I will let everyone know how that goes.
Devin is doing great and turning into such a big girl and always wants to be helping. She does gymnastics once a week and loves it. It's so much fun to see her face when she does a new skill and is just so proud of herself. I will have to take pictures and post them after her class tomorrow. We have been working with her on writing her name and she is pretty close to getting it. She likes doing it for about 10 minutes but her attention span makes it hard after that. She takes after me in that department. lol!
Our big news right now is that we are expecting our third child on July 9th. We will find out in a little less then 4 weeks what the sex of the baby will be. The baby seems to be doing really well even though it likes to hide when it they try and find it's heartbeat but that means I get an ultrasound each time so that is nice. In the last ultrasound at 16 weeks our midwife didn't look but I thought I might have seen something between it's legs so we might have a boy this time. I guess we will see.
Well, this has ended up being pretty long so I will update you all soon.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

My new baby is..........

Very modest. It keep it's legs crossed the entire ultrasound so we have no idea if it's a boy or girl. It is however very healthy and looks perfect which is the most important thing. Devin and Allen were there with me and Devin was not impressed. She was just mad that she could not come up on the table with me. I think I will probably cave and get another ultrasound but we will see. I was excited it would be a surprise for about half a day and now I am just annoyed that I can't get things together. We will see. I won't do it without Allen and he will be gone for another month and a half so we will see then. He wants it a surprise now but he told me it was up to me. He is so sweet!
I will update the ultrasound pictures soon but I am having trouble with the scanner so who knows when. We also updated some more pictures of Devin so everyone can see how grown up she is getting. I will try to update more. Bye!

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Hey!

Well, I know that I hardly ever write on here anymore but at least I try to update pictures which is what everyone looks at anyway. We have been enjoying snow on and off since the day after Thanksgiving which is so much fun but We can't really go outside very much since the high is -1. The low was -22! It is insanely cold and I just don't understand how people chose to live here during the winter! I am really missing Oklahoma about right now.
Devin is doing great. She is so independent and wants to do everything herself which is good but also sad. She is growing up so fast! The big news this month is that Allen and I are expecting our 2nd baby this coming July. I am 7 weeks as of tomorrow. We are so excited and ask you all to keep us in your prayers that everything will go perfectly. I will try to post more often but until then I will update you all with some more pictures. Bye

I'm back!

Ok, so it has been a really long time so I have a lot to update you on. We are now in Great Falls Montana. It has been an adjustment from Oklahoma! It snowed here on Saturday but got back up in the high 60's yesterday. The Mountains now have a lot more snow on them and they are so beautiful! They only have one church of christ here so that is really nice and the people are so nice! They have a lot of specials classes through out the week so it already keeps us busy. We were asked to be life group co-leaders so that will start up soon.
Devin is growing up so fast and will be one in a few weeks. We will have a little party here so she will have some cake for the first time so that will be fun.
We are going to Glacier National Park the weekend of the 28th so that will nice to get so see the mountains better. We haven't had a lot of time to look around since we have been here so it's exciting. That's all I can think of for now so I'll write more later. Bye.

Our first trip to urgent care!

On Saturday Allen Devin and I were at my Grandparents house just hanging out. Everyone was watching Devin stand holding on to the ottoman and paying with some toys. Well I had given her a cup coaster to play with and she was using it as a chew toy. I know right now you are probably saying "why would you give her a coaster" but I didn't think anything that bad could come from it. Anyway, I was about fall asleep in the chair by the ottoman when I hear Allen yell out my name and then I see Devin falling into my leg. She kept the coaster in her mouth all the way down and it cut her lip when she hit. I picked her up and she started to scream. We saw she was bleeding and Allen took her into the bathroom over the sink. Grandma had gotten a cold rag and we blotted the blood away. By this time she was already starting to calm down and even cheer up. The bleeding stopped rather quickly. We could see the cut, it wasn't very long but it looked deep. I felt so bad, and didn't want her to be hurt more than what was noticeable. So, we decided to take her to the urgent care clinic. The receptionists was trying to be light hearted and tell us that it was only the first of many trips. I was occasionally still breaking into tears. Allen said Devin handled the whole thing better than us. The doctor said it was minor, no stitches and it would be healed in a couple of days. So we took her home and changed her clothes. She has keep on like it never happened.
